With a firm texture, wheat grain can be added to soup, casseroles, salads and is a great alternative to other starchy carbohydrates. Wheat grain, or wheat berries as they are sometimes known, can be sprouted into wheat grass, or ground into flour. Sprouted wheat grains are ideal for salads and soups and wheatgrass grown for 9-12 days can be blended into drinks and smoothies.
