Shipton Mill Organic Light Rye Flour 1Kg
Our founder, John Lister, visited the 18th century mill of Michelbacher Mühle, west of the ancient city of Cologne, in order to learn how to mill this traditional rye flour. We call it a “light” rye due to its paler colour, which is a result of our milling processes that sift out some of the bran in order to produce a more refined rye flour.
Store in a cool and dry sealed container
Flour is a raw ingredient and therefore should be thoroughly cooked / baked before consumption
This type of flour is suitable for light rye breads, and produces a lighter crumb and less dense texture than some of the dark ryes. It is intended to balance the flavour with a less heavy texture.
